Archbishop Tutu sends condolence to Queen Beatrix on the death of Prince Friso – 13 August 2013

I am very deeply saddened by the death of Prince Johan Friso of The Netherlands who, with the wonderful support of his family, bravely clung to life for 18 months following a horrific skiing accident.

On behalf of my family, I offer my most heartfelt condolences to his widow Princess Mabel, their two daughters Luana and Zaria, to his mother, Queen Beatrix, and the entire Royal family.

Dear Mabel, you resigned your position as Chief Executive Officer of The Elders to devote your considerable energy to ensure Friso’s comfort and dignity. We prayed  with you for his recovery; we are devastated with you that this could not come to pass.

May Prince Friso rest in peace and rise in Glory.
