The South African Reve. Mpho Tutu appeared relevant and inspiring as she preached forgiveness and reconciliation in the Marble Church in Copenhagen
“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
With these words from the Gospel of Luke chapter 23 opened vicar of the Marble Church in Copenhagen Mikkel Wold a church service on Thursday. With that, he was already beginning the evening’s theme fixed: forgiveness.
Beside him sat the South African pastor and author Mpho Tutu, daughter of South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
A voltage fell over the young and old, who had come to hear Mpho Tutu, who in recent days have been in Denmark as a guest teacher trainer Zahle – University College Capital in Copenhagen.
Wearing a long, white robe she sat on a chair next to the altar, where she almost hidden by a permanent seven-branched chandelier remained seated, but the evening’s first hymn “Praise to the Lord” was sung by the approximately 90 attendees.
Then Mpho Tutu took steps up to the pulpit to preach on the evening’s theme and talk about “The Book of Forgiving,”. Mpho Tutu and her Father Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu released the book this year.
