Youth Health Summit – Youth Day 2015

Giving Children a Chance for Life (GCCL) is a programme being conducted in partnership with Vrije University in Amsterdam.
GCCL looks at how to bridge the gap between religious faith leaders and medical knowledge in supporting adherence treatment for children living with HIV/AIDS.
To celebrate Youth Day on 16 June, as part of the GCCL programme, we hosted a Youth Health Summit that brought together 100 young people from communities across Cape Town, Western Cape
The day was opened up by The Rev. Canon Mpho Tutu who reminded the youth that we need to take care of what God has given us. She encouraged them to use their talents to uplift others.
The Youth Health Summit focused on:
*Sexual health awareness
*Exploring tools that supports treatment adherence
*Addressing the health needs of young people in their communities
Thank you to St Johns for coming out and sharing their knowledge about sexual health awareness.
