Gender-based violence was at epidemic proportions in South Africa before the Covid19 pandemic.
Conversations about this topic are constantly being held by government and other sectors of society and usually peak during the 16 days of Activism against violence against women and children, which takes place in November each year in South Africa.
The DLTLF aims to contribute to this conversation by hosting a Courageous Conversation for Women’s Month, hosted on 13 August, via Zoom webinar.
This event will be delivered in partnership with the Embassy of France in South Africa and the French Institute in South Africa. The unique contribution that the three organisations wish to make is to ask why the actions that have been embarked upon have not borne fruit and what we can do to assist our society to deal with this in a way that will alleviate, reduce and ultimately eliminate the scourge of GBV in our society.
