12 December was Universal Health Coverage Day. The question we must be asking – how far have we come in ensuring that our communities have better access to healthcare?
On 10 December 2019, the Children’s Institute released the 2019 ChildGauge with a focus on Child and adolescent health. With the tagline, Leave no one behind, the publication addresses key health challenges facing the young people in South Africa, and asks pointed questions on why we are not doing enough to ensure that our young people, the future of South Africa, are not receiving basic access to basic health needs.
The Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation is proud of their association with the publication of the 2019 ChildGauge. We congratulate the Children’s Institute on producing a research publication that can be used across all sectors and is a great resource to all working with young people.
“When we see the face of a child, we think of the future. We think of their dreams about what they might become, and what they might accomplish.” – Archbishop Desmond Tutu
