Neeran Naidoo
Neeran Naidoo has a masters degree in communications from Leicester University in the United Kingdom. He has extensive experience working in leadership roles in the non-profit, private and public sectors. He was recently Director of Communications and Outreach at the Nelson Mandela Foundation. Prior to that, he spent 8 years as head of corporate communications at Woolworths. He also served in the Speakers Office in the first democratic Parliament when Mandela was President.
One of his notable achievements was designing the Mace of the National Assembly, one of our national symbols. Neeran held leadership positions at several NGOs such as the Centre for Conflict Resolution at the University of Cape Town and The Hout Bay Partnership. He cut his teeth in media at the alternative newspaper, South, in the 1980s. He is currently Chief Executive Officer at Hewers, a crisis communication consultancy.
