Nomandla Vilakazi

Nomandla Vilakazi is the interim Communications and Advocacy Officer, managing social media, programme support, research, and administration for initiatives like the Courageous Conversation Workshops and the Reimagine Freedom Documentary Series. She is also involved in preparing for the annual Peace Lecture. As a documentary filmmaker with a focus on Black Queer femme rights, Nomandla is pursuing a Master of Documentary Arts at UCT. Her notable work includes a documentary on Sara Baartman and the Black Femme Body. Outside of work, she prioritises mental health through gym and dance, and aims to complete a PhD and travel for further creative and academic growth.
