Shanél Johannes

Shanél Johannes works as the Advocacy and Communications Officer at the Foundation. Her key roles include: the implementation of the organisation’s Advocacy for Societal Healing programmatic goals (Courageous Conversations & dialogues, Solidarity Series, and Re-imagine Freedom Docu-series), core communications across the Foundation’s programme pillars (including preparations for annual Auction and Peace Lecture), and prepares diverse forms of written and media content across social media platforms and website. Shanél holds a Masters of Philosophy degree in Justice and Transformation from the University of Cape Town. Her passions are displayed in her career milestones which include successful advocacy campaigns, impactful communication strategies, and 10 years experience in various roles where she contributed to local, provincial, regional, and global transitional, restorative, environmental, and social justice work.
